Spotty slipped silently behind Med T and through the secret passageway. He picked up his huge sack of vibhuti which he had hidden in a hole in the rocky wall of the pasageway and shouted to his brudders as he came out at their end.
"OK, fast!"
The cubses had him looking quite unlike himself in no time.
"Mum Lioness! Come see this little lion cub who wandered by!" shouted Tirucub.
Mum Lioness looked up from The Garland of Guru's Sayings which she had been reading in the sun just outside their cave. She approached. Sniffed.
Oh no, we are sunk, thought Omcub.
But Mum Lioness just smiled and said, "What a dear little chap he is! Here, little one, have a nip of my Private Reserves 88% Cacao bar."
"She's onto me!" whispered Spotty to Arunacub. "She knows that is my favourite snack."
But -- "Let's go drop in on Spotty and Med T," said Mum Lioness. "See how all those letters are coming along ..."
"Good," whispered Tirucub to Spotty. "We want to get Med Tiger used to the idea that there are four lion cubs now."
When they arrived at the other cave, Med T seemed deeper in work than ever!
"Spotty home?" asked Spotty, in what he hoped was a lionish sort of voice.
"Asleep," said Med Tiger. "Exhausted! Sleeping in till all hours today."
"Best not to wake him," said Tirucub. "Let's go check the garden. C'mon Med T, you need a break."
"Well, I suppose I do, " said Med Tiger, thinking of the nice fresh vegetables in the ashram garden. They all set out.
As they walked, they discussed the pixie infeckstation.
"There must be some spell, " said Spotty.
"There was a terrible sitychashun once in Gilderoy Lockheart's classroom," said Tirucub. "I am trying to remember ... it was Hermione who got things back under control ... but what was that spell she used ..."
They arrived at the garden and were surveying the caulifowers and lettuces when the unthinkable happened. It began to rain. Big fat drops.
First Spotty turned a dark grey.
"That little lion ... he reminds me of something .... wet vibhuti," said Med Tiger.
"That is one type of lion," said Mum Lioness.
Med Tiger seemed to accept this, until the rain got heavier, and spots began to show through the vibhuti.
"Sp ... Sp ... Spotty!? .... Mum Lioness, what is the meaning of this?" asked Med Tiger.
Mum Lioness pretended she had not heard this question and picked a caulifower.
"It's okay Spotty," whispered Tirucub. "I have an even better idea."
