The 4 cubses and Mum Lioness were on their way for darshan when Jagaswami, Balanandaswami and Krackaswami blocked their path. From another direction, pretending not to be associated with the other three, and having covered his spots, came Spotted Dog.
The cubses and Mum Lioness remained in silence, as they felt Bhagavan would have done, and waited for the "swamis" to pass.
The swamis did not pass. Instead, to play a trick on Bhagavan, they cursed the five so Bhagavan would not recognize them when they arrived for darshan and would think them strangers.
Just then Med Tiger woke up and came out of his cave, wondering where Spotty was.
He went out searching. He saw a friendly looking moose in a turban and asked him, "Moose, have you seen Spotty?"
"Why did you call me Moose?" Arunacub asked, not knowing he had been turned into a moose.
"Well, you are a moose," said Med Tiger. Then he asked the large dinosaur if he had seen Spotty.
"I AM Spotty," said the dinosaur.
Med Tiger did not know WHAT to say to that.
The "swamis" went away, pleased with their curse.
The meditator creatures looked around and saw that each of the others had been changed, though they could not see themselves. They did not like being changed without doing it themselves.
"Om Om Om, let us be ourseffs," they tried, but they could not undo the curse.
Their biggest intention was to have Bhagavan's darshan, not to worry about such things as troublesome swamis and curses. Spotty dashed ahead of the others in his eagerness to see Bhagavan.
The moment he got there, Bhagavan said, "Spotty, where are your friends?"
"They are coming along behind me," said Spotty.
Soon the others arrived.
Bhagavan addressed each one by name.
To the little pig, he said, "Mum Lioness, what page are you and the cubses on in the Mahabharata?"
To the dragon, he asked, "Omcub, how much vibhuti was it last time?"
To the rhino, he said, "Tirucub, did the little elefinks enjoy their ice-creams?"
To the moose, he said, "Why does Ganesha ride a mouse, Arunacub?"
To Med Tiger, he said, "Stripes, has Spotty been allowing you any turns with the new book?"
Because He knew they were a little uneasy in the forms the swamis had cursed them into, He said, "Stay at my Feet until you change back to your usual forms."
