A Perfect Day

More and more creatures came.

Tirucub was in heaven!

Then a totally unexpected and wonderful thing happened. The hippo twins were rushing along to wish Tirucub happy birthday.

Meanwhile, their mother, whom they had gotten separated from during the excavation and tree felling on Arunachala, was drawn along by the crowd toward the lionses' cave. The hippo mother had never heard of Tirucub, but she was curious about where such a crowd of elephinks and skunks and zebras and monkeys and others were heading. Suddenly, who did she see in front of her but her dear little rumply-skinned roly-poly baby boys! She had been searching for them every day since she had gotten separated from them. She let out a big whoop of joy and they came barreling toward her and smothered her with kisses.

Some yards away, the little deer who been accidently left behind by her family when they had fled the snarls and roars of the demolition equipment, leapt up onto a little rocky ledge to get a better view of all the comings and goings, and discovered her mother and sister up on the same ledge!

And a baby orangutan, assumed orphaned during that traumatic day, was toddling along, finding the crowd a bit overwhelming, when suddenly he smelled the most wonderful smell in all the whole world ... the unmistakable, delicious smell of his very own mother! He looked up, and there she was! She was so happy to see him that all she could do was hug him over and over, then hold him at arm's length, and start all over again.

Word soon reached the little birthday cub, of these reunions.

"Dear Bhagavan!" he said. "You have worked some more of your miracles. There could be no happier birthday than this. Praise to you, Beloved Lord of All!" So saying, he pressed his little furry face into Bhagavan's feet.
