The cubs were so happy to show the new hospital to the Gurunathans. They introduced them to the receptionist.
Then they went to check on the little heart patient.
The Gurunathans were very surprised to find one of their professors from medical school tending to the little cub who was making a marvelous recovery. The cub was pleased to see the lion cubs and leopard cub and asked if they would teach him chess. They readily agreed. The heart specialist said the tiger cub was now well enough to take part in Life Sized Chess.
"We'll plan another game as soon as we can," said Tirucub.
Spotty still had days when he thought it would be nice to look just like his brothers, so when he saw a nice sink, he jumped off to see if the strong surgical soap might wash his spots off.
Not a single one came off. Mum Lioness found him there and lifted him down, reminding him that he was absolutely poafick just as he was.
In the neonatal ICU, they found a puppy, born very early, was gaining up nicely. The doctor, though, looked quiet tired. When Tirucub asked about this, the doctor said he hated to leave the little pup because he cried from loneliness if he was not sung the Aksharamanamalai at all hours of the day and night.
"Oh, please allow me to step in for a shift," said Gurunathan. "Neonatal ICU is my specialty ... though I do not yet know all the words to the Aksharamanamalai ..."
"I could teach it to you," offered Spotty, who was still trying to dry off from his unsuccessful de-spotting.
"Teach it to all of us!" pled Arunacub.
"How does Spotty know all the woarhds when he is only six months old?" asked Omcub who had jumped up onto the baby-weighing scale to see if he had gained also.
"He was born knowing them," explained Mum Lioness.
Before they left the hospital, it was all arranged that the Gurunathans would start work in the morning.
