Leopard behavior - so nutty !

Leopard Style

What's it with leopards, really, and their impossible to understand behaviour. If we take tiger behaviour as normal, then on one hand you have lion behavior like not liking to swim, and going around in a pride. Which is tolerable. But on the other hand, you have leopard behaviour which is just so strange its almost like other-wordly!

Golly! Prof Snapes gives me the chillz
The other day i got this Harry Potter book, and thought we'd both curl up and read it together. What do you think happens? Spotty takes the book away from my mouth, and goes out of the cave and climbs up a tree, and reads it precariously balanced up there! (Just look, the book could fall over any moment!)

He then constantly looks out of the coahner of his eyeses to make sure no one is reading over his shoulder.

It's this taking things up a tree and doing it there thing that drives us tigers insane.

Spotty: I ent sharing my book with nobody

I make idlis for lunch, heap them on a banana leaf with cocunut chutney for us to have together. And what does he do? Picks up one with his mouth, and again runs up a tree, and devours it there, alone. Is there no such thing as having a bite together, or sharing a meal with a leopard?

Now i do happen to know that when he goes over to Aunt Lionesses, there he behaves like a lion, sitting down with the family, playing with their twigs and rocks and shells, EVEN curling up with the cubs and going to sleep. This may sound like I am going too far, but he even looks lionish over there.

Now why can't he behave like a tiger over at our cave?

Dinner at Sesha Bhavan

Yesturday i and Spotty like went down the hill to the Sesha Bhavan (in the Seshadri Ashram, Tiruvannamalai) for an iddli snack. Spotty like walked the entire way.

Spotty glaring at humanses
Due to the rush, we had to like share our table with two humans.

Spotty was eyeing the humanses from the coahner of his eyeses. sort of monitoring their actions with his pervifidal vijun. Clearly he was uncomsagul about sharing the table with humanses, feeling like creepy.

Spotty then asked me (and not too softly either), how come Bhagavan Ramana used to tolerate humanses.

i told him that for Bhagavan, humanses and animalses were equal there was no special treatment for animalses. He reflected on how much trouble humanses caused such as foahcing Bhagavan to wear a kaupinam. Imagine having to wear something! he said. And sit on a couch.

i was not cumpsagul about the way the convoahsation was going, with humanses nearby.

A lion's share of Special Iddlies at Sesha Bhavan

Then he rememborized how bhagavan told one human devotee that once one has come into the jaws of the leppurd one cannot escape. See, Spotty sed, that means Bhagavan was a leopurrd.

I said, hey pardner, that was the "jaws of a tiger", not leopurred.
And Bhagavan really was the Self, not human or animal.
Even so, Spotty said with an air of finality that is becoming quite common with him, He is our father foast.

We then lapped up some buttermilk and left quietly.

I was at Hogwarts, sez Spotty

Phew! Just got Spotty to bed. Was reading to him from the new Harry Potter book.

Spotty was insisting he was there studying in the Hawgwoss Kool. He says he was in Hufflepuff House. (Ackshlly he calls it Hufflepuffle House).

He was wanting to know about you, what House you were in!

I said cmon, how can we ask them that queschun, they are Arunachalans, living in the next cave! They've never been to Hogwarts! They'll be appalled at the very thought!! They are meditators not magicians!

Anyway, what i really wanted to tell you about was that we went down da hill for dinner today. But tell you more of that tomorrow. Spotty wants the lights out. Says the keyboard tapping is distoahbing his sleep.

O Poor Spotty!

Oh poor Spotty! What an awful dream. You must convince him somehow that we don't even squash spiders and carefully put them outside if we find them in the cave! (at the risk of being bitten on the paw!).

Tiger Crunch! Lepudd Munch! Never never never!!!

With a few iddlies in his tummy, Med Lepudd will feel better.

You mean you are right next door !

Holy Cat!
The folkses in the next cave are you folkses. We thought it was like a bed and breakfuss place with diffren creechures coming and going each day. We never saw the same creechers twice.

Didn't like Bhagavan tell you that you can keep changing your foahm, but is it YOU who is the foahm?

He told us we aren't catses, we are the Seff.

Lepudd is saying to tell em that being humanses is NO fun at all. Its a compiclated life, them humanses have. Lots of miseries and decisionses to make. Obligashens, richuals and plenty more. Humanses cant like lie in the grass all day, and if them are humans we will have to be careful about scaring humans in fyucher.

And one more thing, Cave 8 has a lot of garbage outside which has begun stinking. Could you please keep your cave clean. there are like a hunnred empty boxes of cereal and pasta and empty bottles of something called Midnight Moo lying outside.

thanx.

Could you put up a story on us, pleeeease ?

We've, like, been meaning to ask, but didn't want to seem impolite.

Do you, like, on your blog feature only monkeys and squirrels and bunnies?

Or are you fair with all animals?

We've been monitoring your blog and hoping like that you would put up a story on us, that's me, Meditator Lepudd and my fren Meditator Tiger.

Finally Med Tiger told me to forget it, them asram folks prolly don't like us too much and don't find us cute like them squirellses and peacox, so we should not hope too much.

Anyway, i like thought why not let the nice little cubs (are you cubses or human babies or monkeyses or what, frevens sake, and how many are you?), i thought let them whateverses know a little about us.

On one occashun when Bhagavan was up on the hill, like a looong thyme ago, i used to come to drink water near the cave. Them humans used to get afraid. So i used to give a growl to let them know i was coming, cos we lepuddses gotta drink too.

Then i would give a growl to say thank you, see ya tomorrow.

But i dont think them humans were smart enough to unnerstand. they would like run away frightened like i was gonna eat them.

i tried telling one of em, when he was like squatting in the bush (ugh, it was like way too smelly there) that i am a herbivorous lepudd, and could you possibly let me have a few iddlies from the asram, blessed by Bhagavan, thank you.

But he bolted without even cleaning hisself!
I am a iddlivorous lepudd, you know.

And once Bhagavan was watching me and Med Tiger playing with each other, rolling in the grass. He was smiling and mind-talking with us.

Then some other humanses came along and began screaming "Tiger! Tiger" and we had to run away elsewhere to play.

We are devotees of Bhagavan too as much as the chimpses and bunnies and squirrelses you keep writing about. And peecocks. We would much appreshiate if you could put in some stories about us, too.
And could you tell us what nine and seven year oldses you are --- we are hoping you aren't human, more like zebras or rhinos, or even meerkats. But we won't mind human babies too, as long as they aren't fraid of us, and send an iddli or two our way.

Meditator Lepudd (along with Meditator Tiger)

p.s. and don't forget to send some buttermilk, we love the ashram buttermilk. And rasam. And chutney.

Hello there,

Just wunnering on some points.

1. Monkey Hobbler hits Bhagavan
2. Squirrel bites Bhagavan's finger

And yet they get "top billing" on your blog. While we gentle big cats who never hurt anyone, get no menshun?

Also, we see pitchers of Bhagavan sitting on a Tiger skin. Meditator Lepudd has been teasing me and saying "See, Bhagavan does not like Tigerses, he killed one and sits on it"
I said "there must be some reason to it. Bhagavan can't kill us gentle tigerses".

Praps you knowledgeable and wise folk writing this loverly blog would be able to elucidate on these troublesome matterses.

Sincerely,
Meditator Tiger (frens call me Woody)
